Plaza de Amigos del Mundo
The Mando Festival is Iruma’s biggest festival and it will be held on October 25 and 26 (Sat & Sun) this year. The Iruma International Friendship Society organizes a food court called ‘Plaza de Amigos del Mundo,’ in the parking space next to the Sangyo Bunka Center. Here we aim to have people in Iruma enjoy tastes from around the world and recognize how our society is already multicultural. If you are interested in opening a food stand, contact the Society to receive an application form and information. The Application deadline for food stands is at noon on August 18 (Mon). Several rules apply. Stand owners must participate in a meeting on October 8 night. Applications and Inquiries: Iruma International Friendship Society Tel:04-2964-1111 ext. 2147 (in easy English or Japanese) E-mail: isociety@m.ictv.ne.jp (in any language)
Unfortunately this year and after the stage in the plaza will be operated by another group under a new name “Keyaki Stage.” If you would like to perform this stage, see the Mando Festival website (https://iruma-mandoumatsuri.com/#) for application details and apply through the QR code on the right. The application deadline for stage performance is August 22 (Fri). Iruma International Friendship Society is happy to help you apply for the stage performance!
SUBSIDIES FOR TAX DEDUCTION ADJUSTMENT ONLY FOR THOSE ELIGIBLE
Last year the government implemented income and resident tax deductions by fixed amounts, 30,000 yen and 10,000 yen respectively, for all the taxpayers. And the city paid the same amount last June as subsidies for those whose tax amounts are less than these amounts. However, because some people have not yet gotten this benefit for some reason, the city will send a notice this month to eligible citizens. For the details, check the notice. Inquiries: Seikatsu Shien (Section for Livelihood Support)

TAKE CAREFUL PRECAUTIONS AGAINST HEAT STROKE!
Last summer, more than 2,500 people in Saitama prefecture used ambulances due to heat stroke. Among these, we saw 87 serious cases which required hospitalization for more than three weeks, and sadly one case of death.
Iruma has inland weather which can be very hot in summer. Dizziness, cramps, numbness and abnormal sweating are typical symptoms of early heat stroke. Regularly take fluids and stay cool inside with fans and air conditioning to prevent heat stroke.
