 WHEN VISITING A HOSPITAL
USE YOUR ‘MY NUMBER’ CARD OR
YOUR NEW ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE

For those enrolled in social insurance (company health insurance), your health insurance card will no longer be valid on and after December 2, 2025. Instead, when visiting a hospital, use a "health insurance eligibility certificate (資格確認書 shikaku kakunin-sho)," which you should have received by last month. It can be used in the same way as your previous "insurance card," even though the new certificate may look like a paper card, not a hard plastic card like the one before.

マイナンバーカード資格確認書
Those who have already linked between your MY Number card to your health insurance:

Use your MY number card as health insurance card. At a hospital reception, place your card on the reader, and it will authenticate your face or ask you to enter your four-digit PIN number. Then you need to choose “Agree” or “Not Agree” to share your medical records to the medical institution you care going to receive medical care. To validate your status, your insurer should have sent a “notification of eligibility information” to the insured who have completed the linkage. It is advisable to bring this paper with you when visiting a hospital in case the card reader cannot recognize your card.

Watch out for the expiration date of the card!

The electronic certification on your MY Number card has its own expiration date. So it can expire while your membership of health insurance is still valid. Iruma City Office will notify all the card holders of the expiration of the electronic certification on your card. Don’t forget to renew your card before the expiration date. Inquiries: Kokuho Iryo-ka (Section for National Health Insurance and Medical Care)

Influenza alert issued for Saitama Prefecture!

Saitama Prefecture issued an influenza epidemic warning on November 12, 2025. The announcement was
made more than one month earlier than usual. As the holiday season brings more opportunities to meet
people, extreme caution is required.

To prevent not only influenza but also common infectious diseases, it's important to get into the habit of washing your hands frequently. Dry air weakens the defenses of the mucous membranes in your throat, so use a humidifier to maintain an appropriate humidity level (50 to 60%). To boost your immune system, it is important to get enough rest and eat a balanced diet.

Also, if you suspect you may have influenza, take time off from school or work, and visit a medical institution. Please call in advance to check if you can be seen. Some clinics do not accept patients with fever. Inquiries: Chiiki Hoken-ka (Section for Community Health)

NEW TENANTS INVITED FOR MUNICIPAL HOUSING UNITS

Application forms are available at the Toshi Keikaku-ka (Section for City Planning) in the City Hall or each Community ‘Chiku’ Center. Apply by December 19 by mail (must be postmarked by the date).
